Other ways to give:

Become a volunteer

Transition Extreme is always looking for volunteers willing to give up their time to help support the work we do. There are lots of varied ways to get involved with Transition from helping with the delivery of our innovative projects, taking part in one of our exciting fundraising events or giving your time to help coach the next generation of extreme athletes!

We are also keen to hear from those who are looking for work experience, placements or working towards their Duke of Edinburgh Awards.

Volunteering will give you the opportunity to broaden your horizons, try new things and learn new skills

Get your company involved

Whether you are making a one-off donation, giving a gift in kind or looking for a long term charity partner, you can be sure you are making a big difference to the lives of young people in the North East by teaming up with Transition Extreme.
Supporting us in the work that we do with children and families can help you too. Market research suggests that consumers have a more positive image of a company that supports a cause they care about. This has resulted in many companies taking notice of corporate social responsibility and their own social agenda.

Being a Transition Extreme  corporate supporter can enhance your image in the community and among your customers, support your marketing objectives, and increase your staff morale.

Case Study

In 2009, oil and gas operator, Talisman Energy (UK) Ltd and Transition Extreme pioneered a new youth project.  The unique youth development programme focused on a key transition for any young person – the successful adjustments from primary to secondary school.  Transition programme was split into two blocks each running for 12 weeks and working with pupils from different secondary schools in Aberdeen.  The first block helped 18 pupils from Kincorth Academy, St Machar Academy and Torry Academy.  Over 12 sessions, the adrenaline packed activities on offer at Transiton Extreme were used to capture the imagination of participants, improve their health and general wellbeing and allowed them to develop a range of life skills such as social interaction, respect for other people’s needs and personal development skills.

A further 16 young people from Northfield and Bankhead Academy took part in the second round on Teenage Transition which run for 12 weeks from January 2010.

Each round included a small business project which was designed to demonstrate the link between school work and real life situations – helping them create a sense of involvement, achievement and accountability for their actions as well as reinforcing the importance of team work.  The young people in each round organised gala style fun days at Transition Extreme, raising funds for the charity and each time time seeing over 200 people access free tasters sessions at the centre.
