The Duty Managers will have day to day operational responsibility for the overall centre, reporting to Tim Rankin, but will also play a significant role in business development activities and planning of major events, competitions and community initiatives.

The Climbing Manager will focus on managing the climbing centre and developing the significant potential of indoor climbing to a wide range of users - supported by the Duty Mangers and Tim Rankin.

The accountant will work with Duty Managers and Tim Rankin in the overall financial management of the centre, financial reporting and in a wider commercial role, looking at financial aspects of future competitions and events, investments and community initiatives.

Administrator position and skatepark, climbing supervisory positions and café staff will be actioned in December/January.

Tim Rankin - Joining us from a Duty Officer position with Aberdeenshire Council - Tim has extensive experience of leisure facility management in the Grampian area, including stints at the Beach Leisure Centre, Kincorth Sports Centre, Torry, Westburn Tennis Centre etc. An accomplished climber time, Tim will be well known to many in the climbing community and also for his contributions to local climbing guides and his own respected guide to the boulders at Portlethen ...available from all good bookshops, or at least from Tim!

Duncan Paterson - just finishing off as Climbing Co-ordinator at the RGU:SPORT wall at Garthdee, Aberdeen and with his own part time instructors business - Duncan is coming with first hand experience of both the challenges, frustrations and opportunities associated with starting up a new climbing centre and how to manage the demands of experienced climbers, beginners, kids and community groups. Together with Tim and the support of advisory board members this ensures a knowledgeable and strong climbing culture in the centre.

Michelle Black - a graduate of Aberdeen University and trained at Ernst and Young, Michelle joins us from Mackinnons of Dyce/Photo factory where she was part time Financial Controller. A mum of two young daughters Michelle really identified with the Transition concept and the need for such facilities in Aberdeen.
